Homeschool Resources

Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls

Welcome to the Homeschool Resources page of The Seaside Collective—a space where education meets flexibility, creativity, and heart.

For over two decades, I’ve homeschooled my five children while living on a small island in Micronesia. Like many parents starting out, I initially tried to replicate a traditional school model at home—only to discover that what we truly needed was freedom, not rigidity. From that point forward, our homeschooling journey became one of curiosity, adaptability, and deep listening to each child’s unique learning style.

Throughout the years, we’ve explored a wide range of curricula, learning methods, and unconventional paths. From navigating the joys and challenges of homeschooling a child on the spectrum and managing ADHD, to balancing academics with music, swim, and art training—our home became a space where education was not just a subject, but a lifestyle.

The fruit of this journey has been beyond what I could have imagined: international athletes, an Olympian, and a daughter pursuing music and art at the university level after earning her Licentiate Diploma through ABRSM.

On this page, I’ll share the lessons, tools, and insights gathered along the way—from what worked (and what didn’t), to favorite resources, encouragement for tough seasons, and guidance for building a homeschool rhythm that fits your family’s life, not someone else’s mold.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or simply searching for inspiration—you’re not alone. You are welcome here.
